Institutional Food Hygiene

New River Community Health Care Center and the Florida Department of Health in Union County

Program Description 

The Florida Department of Health in Union County provides regulatory services, including permitting and inspection for the following types of food service establishments: Schools, institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes, and other group care facilities, recreational camps, fraternal and civic organizations, bars and lounges that do not prepare potentially hazardous food, religious centers, and detention facilities. Mobile food units that have their commissary on the premises of one of the above described facilities are also regulated by the Department. Similarly, temporary food events that occur on the premises of one of the above described facilities are regulated by the Department. All other food service establishments are regulated by either the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) or the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS).

Permits are valid from October 1st through September 30th, and must be applied for and renewed annually.

Fraternal/Civic Organizations: $190.00

Limited Food Services: $110.00

Movie Theater: $190.00

Other Food Service: $190.00

Residential Facility: $135.00

School Cafeteria: $170.00
